Urea (Сarbamide) 46

Is a result of synthesis of ammonia gas and carbon dioxide under the influence of high pressure and temperature. It refers to the nitrogen group and it is the most concentrated nitrogenous fertilizer, which can’t be easily washed out by groundwater. It has the colorless, odorless crystalline shape, and it can be easily melted in water.

Urea is widely used for fertilizing of all crops; it can be sprayed on the foliage or added to the irrigation water. As a result, it provides necessary N nutrition for fruit, vegetable and flower plants. Besides it can be used as an addition to the animal feed as a protein supplement.

Also urea is an important component used in other industries, for example in furniture manufacturing and the production of wood-fiber boards, in the plastics production, pharmaceutical and food industries (additive E927b).

Ammonium nitrate 34,4%

Is used widely as a fertilizer; it contains 34-35% nitrogen and dissolves well in the water. It is a colorless granular substance, coated with a special solution to prevent sticking.

Ammonium nitrate is one of the most popular nitrogen fertilizers used for all kinds of crops in any soil and climatic conditions. It has a high nutrient content and can be used as a basic fertilizer or can be mixed with others. Ammonium nitrate is necessary, first of all, for reaching active plant nitrogen saturation. This is its main objective, which is also solved due to the included macro- and micronutrients.

Ammonium Sulphate

Ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2 SO4] was one of the first and most widely used nitrogen (N) fertilizers for crop production. It is now less commonly used, but especially valuable where both N and sulfur (S) are required. Its high solubility provides versatility for a number of agricultural applications.

Ammonium sulfate (sometimes abbreviated as AS or AMS) has been produced for over 150 years. Initially, it was made from ammonia released during manufacturing coal gas (used to illuminate cities) or from coal coke used to produce steel.

Ammonium sulfate is used primarily where there is a need for supplemental N and S to meet the nutritional requirement of growing plants. Since it contains only 21% N, there are other fertilizer sources that are more concentrated and economical to handle and transport. However, it provides an excellent source of S which has numerous essential functions in plants, including protein synthesis.

Urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN32)

Is a fluid fertilizer containing urea and ammonium nitrate; it meets all the necessary agricultural engineering requirements and is widely used for the plants nutrition. Due to the presence of several active ingredients in the UAN composition, plants receive prolonged nutrition effect during the whole growing season, it is provided by three forms of nitrogen (50% amide, 25% ammonium and 25% nitrate forms of nitrogen).

Usually UAN solutions can be sprayed on the foliage or it can be added to the irrigation water. Ammonium and nitrate forms of nitrogen are well absorbed by plants.

Nitrate nitrogen is absorbed primarily due to its mobility in soil.

Ammonium form of nitrogen is less mobile, but at the same time it retains longer in the soil, it is also available for a large variety of plants uptake, then it is rapidly transformed into nitrate form.

UAN 32 is an excellent source of plant nutrition during the whole period of vegetation.

Calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN 27)

Calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN 27) is a grey-white ammonium nitrate granulate with fine grounded dolomite decreasing the fertilizers natural acidity. The fertilizer contains 27 % of nitrogen (other components there is: ammonia N (N-NH3), nitrate N (N-NO3), magnesium (MgO), calcium (C). CAN is produced by mixing ammonium nitrate solution with fine limestone (dolomite) followed by granulation of the mixture.

Nitrogen is absorbed easily and efficiently. Calcium and magnesium are important to plant vital functions. Calcium ammonium nitrate enables plants grow wide leaves of rich green colour; provide 5-20% richer harvest. Long-term usage causes no soil acidification and makes no impact on soil biological activity. Plants are enriched not only with nitrogen but also with magnesium and calcium. Moreover, calcium ammonium nitrate by providing plants with necessary nutrients compensates lack of light and the damage of acid soil.
